OPEN MIKE NIGHT

Hey cats and dolls!

Hope everyone out in the digital realms is doing just peachy. I've been running around keeping on top of stuff for the past couple of months and there are some really neat things cooking but I'll blather more about that when I can.

I just wanted to take the time and welcome all the new friends and :+devwatch:ers that have joined me here in my dusty little corner of :devart: and thank everyone for all the comments, :+fav:s, and support. You guys rock hard and I know I may not post as often as others but it does my old heart good to see you guys sit up and take notice. Thanks folks I really appreciate all of you taking the time to check out my work even if it is a casual browse through.

It has become somewhat of a tradition for me to open up the mike to anyone that may have any sort of question regarding art, life, or whatever when I get an influx of new faces watching. I feel like it helps us to get to know each other better even if we're on opposite sides of a computer screen. Now I'm not the most interesting person, not like that Dos Equis guy but I'm willing to open myself up here for everyone so if there is something, some burning question that you just need an answer to, right or wrong I'll do my best!

With that said, ask away but be warned-I may ask you something back as well!
:plotting:

COMMISSIONS

These are just two examples of the commissions I've done. If you have a piece that I illustrated for you up in your gallery here on :devart: let me know and I'll link it up here.

PIN-UP ARTBOOK

MINI-MUSES at Lulu.com

8.5"x11" paperback with 36 pages featuring a collection of pin-ups in full-color. If you like the work of Mel Ramos, or just drawings of cute little women then this title is for you!

Also featured in this book are some of DA's own lovely ladies:

:iconbakanekonei::icondrawingremy::iconederoi::iconjolene-h:
:iconmarissawilson::iconpeng-peng::iconsickstarr::icontrashydevil:

They were kind enough to be my muses for some of the pieces in the book.

So if you've got some spare coin burning a hole in your pocket and you want to get a nifty little book of art head on over to Lulu.com (click the link below the pic), grab a copy and enjoy! Can't spare the scratch? That's okay, just help spread the word and you'll make an old bastard very happy!

A few folks have Noted me asking if I'm planning on doing another book like this in the future. I'd like to but it'll be a bit before I do, I've got some other projects on my plate that I have to get done first.

I am however open to suggestions if anyone has anything they would like to see in a future volume of MINI-MUSES. Anyone that would like to be featured as a future Mini-Muse or a link to someone who you think would make a great Muse? For those who have purchased the book is the sketch/lineart/finished piece format good or should I just go for maximum page-count and just fill the book with finished pieces? Just throwing all this out there for kicks but I'd appreciate the input along with any other comments or questions anyone might have.

This just made my day:

Thanks Carlye! :huggle:

Tell me what to draw updates:

Here are the images for this journal where I asked you fine folks to suggest some stuff for me to sketch on my trip. I didn't get much sketching done on my trip due to stuff popping up but that doesn't mean I'm not going to honor your requests.

Hey check this out:

Started up my Sketchblog and if you have a Blog or just want to check it out you can find it here:
ZOMBIES LOVE COMICS.
There will be exclusive stuff on it that you won't see on DA.

I never realized how much stuff I had in the Scraps section. Check it out:

Please look at this video and watch a master in action! Pay close attention to the amount of erasing he does-we should all strive to have that amount of confidence in our work.

Tim Vigil rocks Conan!

Done with that one? Good. Now check out the man's amazing brushwork!

Tim Vigil slinging the ink!

Still want more? Groovy, you're like me then and you love to watch the masters work! Here's more vids that are must see if you even remotely love comics and the people who create them!

Buscema and Sienkiewicz makin' it look easy!
Click on the third part of this series to watch Gibbons and Charest work their magic!
And of course the crazy talent that is Adam Hughes! Anatomy of a Sketch pt.1

Here's Marc Silvestri at a show telling it like it is! These are only some of my faves from YouTube, there's plenty more to be found and enjoyed and you might even learn a thing or two!
