In a galaxy far, far away...

I've known Alex *illustrated1 Riegel for some time now. He came into my life at a point where I was really becoming stagnant and bored with my work and his style and approach to art was really refreshing and inspiring.

This cat has pushed me to new levels of art and challenged me to try new things like working with color and different media that got me out of that silly comfort zone alot of us like to stay in. I owe him quite a bit for that.

To top it all off he's a swell guy, monster talent, and one of the young guns so that when I'm finally dead I know the comic book world will be in good hands.

The least I could do to show my appreciation for his friendship and inspiration was doodle up a piece for him showcasing his favorite creations Ginger and Sparkz of Battery Acid fame!

This is a piece that speaks most eloquently for itself I think. I always thought Sparkz was worm or slug-like hence the Jabba ref. For a while he reminded me of Slurms McKenzie too!
